Happiness Project Month 2

Seems I forgot to click publish on this one earlier this week.....

Month 2 of info to share from Gretchen Ruben's article in October 2008 Real Simple .

In a nutshell, on a bus one morning she realized she didn't feel like she had a happy life and yet all the components were there. She embarked on a one year study of all the happiness studies to see what was balderdash and what was real.

In her own words...Step Two....

2. Do let the sun go down on anger. I had always scrupulously aired every irritation as soon as possible, to make sure I vented all bad feelings before bedtime. Studies show, however, that the notion of anger catharsis is poppycock. Expressing anger related to minor, fleeting annoyances just amplifies bad feelings, while not expressing anger often allows it to dissipate.

Makes perfectly good sense to me!  I can't remember a time when flying off the handle has helped or a time when stepping back and thinking for a moment has hurt.

Accountability Update:  I have walked for half an hour 4 mornings this week and did my yoga.
